Powers: How they work!
Jan. 3rd, 2011 02:12 amJohn Zatara is a member of a sub-race of humanity called Homo Magi, who are able to wield the powers of magic in the DCU. He can use magic within him, with great effort, or use the family magic. His family inherited a way to manipulate magic by speaking words backward, able to do almost anything they put their minds and wills to.
Power: Backwards Speech Magic: Speaking his intent backwards allows John to concentrate his mind and will to manipulate magic and achieve the effect he wants. For example, he could say “Tegrof!”, and the person so spoken to would forget what John wanted them to forget. Or he could say “Rewop ym ni era uoy won!” and place those who heard it within his mystical control.
